QUAD World near Cullompton is holding a Fathers Day Challenge on Sunday from 10am to 5pm in aid of the charity Sparks and St Nicholas Catholic primary school in Exeter. The challenge is not just for dads however ... mums and kids are also welcome to hit the saddle and share in the fun as all prices will be halved for the day. ![]() For children it is just £5 each and for the fathers £10 each. The day promises to be an exhilarating and novel way to celebrate Fathers Day. The event will run no matter what the Weather and Quad World can be found at Junction 28 off the M5 – follow the brown and white tourist signs.Sparks is a rarity. A charity that funds cutting edge research across the whole spectrum of paediatric medicine rather than being a singe issue charity. Sparks is at the forefront of cutting edge research aimed at saving more babies from death and brain damage and the charity has already pioneered the development of the ‘Cooling Cap’, now being widely introduced in the NHS, which is credited with saving the lives of one baby in six. Ongoing research aimed at improving survival levels further is being carried out by a Sparks-funded team in the South-West. Nicole Rolfe, Sparks’ Community Fundraiser for the South-West, said: “The Father’s Day Challenge is set to be a great event not just for the fathers but for the whole family. “There will be a host of other activities for the family to get involved in on the day, including the ever-popular bouncy castle, barbeque, garden and art workshops and cake stall. “So if you feel like you need an adrenaline rush on the quad bikes or would like to support Sparks and St Nicholas Catholic Primary School in a calmer way please come along!” Quad World has been established for over 21 years and is an award winning tourist attraction. It caters for all ages from six through to adults and for all abilities including those with disabilities. Everyone has an opportunity to ride a quad bike on the half mile grand prix circuit after a safety briefing with an instructor. There is also a pro-circuit for the more experienced riders which is just over a mile long.
