Tamara celebrates quad bike success |
|
A DINNINGTON teenager celebrated quad biking success after she scooped second place in the British Championships.
Fifteen-year-old Tamara Radford was delighted with the result and said she has her sights set on coming first next year.
Mum Jane said Tamara has won a number of trophies for the sport.
”Tamara was absolutely delighted with this,” said Jane. ”We’re really proud of her.”
”She was pleased to come second and gutted to miss out on first by point six of a second.”
“She goes out nearly every weekend. We ride all over the county. ”
Tamara has been biking for three years now and her mum said she got hooked on the sport after having a go on her brother’s bike.
She even raised an impressive £2,000 for Breast Cancer at a charity ride at Weston Beach Race earlier this month.
Jane said the charity is close to Tamara’s heart after her grandmother passed away from breast cancer last year.

Quad Rally - A Huge Success |
|
Saturday, 04 July 2009 16:24 |
The quad rally turned out to be a huge success with fantastic weather and a turn out of over 50 quad bikes and buggy's and many made use of the camping and caravan facilities on the Friday night.
There was a ride out for the road legal guys and some twenty or so bikes that left for a couple of hours were greeted by the ice cream van upon their return.
There was a hog roast in the evening which was a huge success and tea's and coffee's were on offer for a donation to Great Ormond Street Hospital and a very fruity banana man collecting on a trip round the field.
If you were in the market for a quad or buggy then this was the place to gather all the information you could need straight from the horses mouth as it were.
A huge thanks to Quadzilla for donating the gate money too, this has made a total of £400.00 for Great Ormond Street Hospital.
Also thanks to all that donated prizes Quadzilla, Quad magazine, Quad Heaven, Ensign Motors, Putoline and Bike it.
This has given us a base to work from for next year, plans are already being set in motion for the 2010 quad rally and promises to be bigger and better than the 1st event.
Please make sure you can come and support this event as it is for you the riders, and even those who just want to gather information on the various types of quad bike or buggy's available on the market before they make a final choice on a possible purchase.
Thanks again to all that made this possible and we hope to see you all next year.

The workmen were clearing road gullies and working a short distance along the road. The bike has a black frame but the shell is mainly yellow. It had been modified so it could accommodate road signs used to manage the traffic. Constable Annie Hughes, who is investigating the incident, said: “Police are examining CCTV from the area and house to house enquiries are also being conducted. “At this stage it has not been established how the vehicle was taken from the scene. “It may have been ridden away or loaded on to or into another vehicle before being driven off. “Anybody who saw persons tampering with the quad bike or who has any information about the incident is asked to contact me at Wem Police Station on 0300 333 3000.”
