Yoshimura now offering ISF Process |
|
Motorsport race teams around the world have discovered the secret of the ISF (Isotropic Superfinish) Process to keep their transmission and gearboxes cool and less likely to fail. This chemically accelerated deburring/polishing process uses high-density, non-abrasive ceramic pellets to remove microscopic surface peaks and valleys left from machining. The result is a highly uniform mirror-like surface that reduces friction and allows for increased lubrication. The result is an improved component that will operate at lower temperatures, provide increased durability, quieter operation, and increased time between maintenance. Yoshimura offers this in-house service to the performance Quad Bike enthusiast or racer who wants to improve gear life and power output as well as reduce costs and those pesky DNFs.

SMX Winter series event cancelled. |
|
The SMX Winter Championship round sheduled for this Sunday has been cancelled. The course is already waterlogged and further rain is expected throughout the weekend. The event has been re scheduled for the 25th January at Elvetham. Now someone correct me if I am wrong, but didn't all the winter events get cancelled last year too?

Qx championship set to thrill |
| BRITISH QX CHAMPIONSHIP SET TO THRILL | The Goldspeed British QX Championship blasts into action at the spectacular Desertmartin track in Northern Ireland this weekend. The famous MX GP track hosts rounds 1 and 2 of the 2010 title chase and picking a favourite for the title is harder than ever, with an ever growing list of names coming into the frame as serious contenders. Top of the pile is multiple and reigning champion Paul Winrow who showed anyone with any doubts that he has already got the hang of his new KTM, by storming to an overall third place at the British round of the European Championship at Petersfield two weeks ago. He may have lacked some race fitness, but he certainly has the speed, the experience and the guile to carry on winning. Others on the pace at Petersfield were the similarly KTM mounted Jason MacBeth, Paul Holmes and Mark Watson. These three are also similarly spectacular to watch and will certainly be in the frame for race wins, but they will also need to maintain championship winning consistency of results if they are to wrestle the number one plate from Winrow. Former British and European champion John Mitchell is back to fitness after his injury-hit 2009 season and the Scotsman will be out to prove that he is still a major force to be reckoned with. Like Winrow, Mitchell knows what it takes to win a championship and he wants that number one plate back. Stef Murphy took fourth place in the title chase in 2009 and the Oxfordshire teenager is determined to make the next step up to regular race wins in 2010. Similarly Carl Bunce and Leon Beda are more than capable of leading the pack and they too will be looking to make their mark in 2010. Justin Reid is another former British champion who looks to be back on form and hungry for wins. Justin has got his Can-Am set-up well sorted and will be hoping for an injury-free run at the title. And the list goes on... 2010 Goldspeed British QX Championship Riders: Paul Winrow Paul Holmes Jason MacBeth Stefan Murphy Carl Bunce Leon Beda Justin Reid John Mitchell James Behan Mark Watson David Cowan David Wray Giles Davis Lindsey Duke Richard Tordoff Oliver Sansom Sean Goss James Hellewell Sam Bryan Dean Thompson Paul Broomhead John Pilbrow Sam Harrison Liam Cater Ben Harman John Chew David Coatsworth Daniel Emmerson Chris King Scott Murray Kieran Power Tom Silvey Richard Telford Simon Walton | | |

FIREFIGHTERS have been tackling a blaze today (Thursday) on a farm which has reportedly destroyed about 100 all terrain-vehicles and motorbikes. Fire crews were called out to Springfield Farm, at Tilton on the Hill, in the early hours of this morning.
The site is the headquarters of Tilton ATV which advertises itself as one of the largest off-road distributors in Europe, selling, servicing and repairing new and used all-terrain vehicles and quad bikes.
The damage will likely cost hundred of thousands of pounds.
Five fire engines and a water bowser from stations across the county tackled the blazed from about 1am.
Firefighters saved a neighbouring farmhouse by spraying it with compressed air-foam which protected it from the intense fire.
Pumps were said to be still at the scene at midday today.
The cause of the fire is now under investigation.
